About us

Welcome to the Swanwick Baptist Church website.

Baptist Christians have been meeting on our present site since the mid 1790s and as the village changes and grows around us it's our desire to keep sharing the life and message of Jesus Christ with our neighbours and friends and to serve the community in the best ways we can.

We  normally gather each Sunday at 10.45am for worship. Visitors and new attendees are always welcome.

The Chapel is situated in its own grounds on the right hand side of Derby Road as you head north, just before you pass the garage on the opposite side of the road. (Postcode DE55 1BG). Parking is available on the main road.

If you'd like more information or want to be in touch for any other reason, feel free to contact us via the website or our Facebook page. Alternatively, email our Moderator, Brian Nicholls at bnichwm@aol.com.

TIME CHANGE!!! On Tuesday our In Touch prayer gathering is at the revised time of 10.30am, in the Schoolroom. (This normally lasts about 30 minutes, and is based around a simple order of service which includes a chance to explore briefly a Bible passage, and to share prayer requests and news.)  Tea and coffee will be available afterwards, served in a Covid safe way.

Meetings for the next few weeks include:

Sunday 19th September - Alison Briddon, one of our deacons is leading the 10.45am service

Sunday 26th September - it's Harvest Thanksgiving at 10.45am, led by Rev Brian Nicholls. If you're able, bring in date tins and packets of food for distribution via Derby City Mission. We'll also be exploring material from BMS World Mission about standing with those who are living in life-threatening circumstances. More information at www.bmsworldmission.org/iwillstand

Saturday 2nd October from 8.30am - Prayer Breakfast, followed by work morning.

Tuesday 5th October (time to be confirmed) - Macmillan Coffee morning in Schoolroom

No need to book. Feel free to bring a mask to wear if it would help you to feel more at ease.
